Summer Dance Intensive

August 26th - 29th 2019

Summer Dance Intensive for Intermediate and Advanced level dancers Ages 10- 18 

Tuition: $300 per dancer

 

Dance Factory Ridgefield's Summer Dance Intensive/Boot Camp is designed to get our dancers ready for the upcoming Fall/Spring Dance Season.  Dancers should come prepared with proper dance attire and shoes for each style, hair neatly pulled back in a bun or ponytail, and a refillable water bottle.

Both the Intermediate and  Advanced Intensives include Ballet, Turn & Leap/Conditioning, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary and Hip Hop Master Classes with DFR staff and exciting Guest Artists!

Intermediate level dancers, and DFR Junior Competition Team/Crew Members  Ages 10-13 should register for the Junior/Intermediate Intensive

Advanced level dancers, and DFR Senior Competition Team/Crew Members

Ages 14-18 should register for the Senior/Advanced Intensive

David Gavi - Monday, August 26th

12:30 - 2pm Senior Hip Hop

David has been a dance instructor, working with students of all levels, ages 5-55+ for the past 8 years.  David began his dance training at Allegra Dance Studio in Greenwich CT under the late, great Hip Hop choreographer Frankie Rodriguez, while also studying Jazz under Rose Jackson Moye, Ade Chike &  Sonya Tayeh, Contemporary and Ballet under Kristin Leggio, Jessica Danser and Emily Isidori.  He continued his training in NYC, working with a variety of professional choreographers such as  Rhapsody James, Rob Rich, Andye J, Luam, Kelly Peters, Tweet Boogie, Neil Schwartz, Paul and Brian Herman, Chris Judd, Jared Jenkins, Kelly Peters. 

David began teaching Hip Hop at Allegra, JD/The SPOT, and other Fairfield and Westchester County dance programs, while operating a community outreach dance program in Bridgeport, CT.  

David's journey then lead him to Los Angeles, where he continued to study, teach and choreograph for various dance programs, and produce professional dance photography and video.   David now operates a bi-coastal marketing agency (Dynamic Marketing Grounds) and is in the process of launching Dynamic Beatz - a pre-professional dance program to assist young dancers in the CT area on their path on becoming well educated artists. David is excited to share his talent and passion with DFR and we are so pleased to have him!

Amelia Burkhardt - Tuesday, Aug 27th

Amelia was born and raised in Thousand Oaks, CA. Throughout her training, she was on competition teams, winning many first place and overall soloist awards. Amelia was selected for numerous scholarships from competitions and conventions all over California, including a one year scholarship to Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles. Some of Amelia's credits include The Hello Kitty National Tour, Nickelodeon's Big Time Rush, Promo for Disney's 'Camp Rock 2', FOX 'Mobbed', Good Day L.A., and regional productions of In The Heights(Dance Captain), Beauty and The Beast and Peter Pan. She has also worked alongside of celebrities Demi Lavato, Rosario Dawson, Jane Fonda, Wilmer Valderrama, and Howie Mendel. She has danced for famous choreographers, NappyTabs, Tyce Diorio, Matt Cady, Galen Hooks and Neil Schwartz. She was a featured dancer and one of the assistant production coordinators for the world famous dance show, Choreographers' Carnival. She was a company member and assistant for the popular LA based company, Mischief Makers. They are invited to perform all over the country, including Hawaii, Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Etc. Amelia also travels the United States judging studio dance competitions for Starpower, Imagine, and Revolution Talent Competitions. Over her professional career, Amelia has been teaching at several dance studios, high schools, and universities on the East and West Coast, including UCLA, Cal State Channel Islands, and University of Delaware. She currently is a traveling faculty member for Liberate Artists INC teaching and choreographing alongside Phil Wright, Comfort Fedoke, Lauren Froderman, Mollee Gray, Etc. She is also now on faculty at Steps On Broadway in NYC. Amelia continues to reside in NYC pursuing her dance, acting, and teaching career.

Aliya Perry - Thursday, August 29th

This is a personal belief/quote Aliya Perry has lived as a dancer, choreographer and dance teacher to hundreds of students for close to 20 years. Her Background Experience Includes: BA in Dance & Theater, Award Winning Competition Choreographer, Event Producer for numerous Live Red Carpet Events for the Hollywood Dance Industry with elite sponsors such as The Sag-Aftra Union & So You Think You Can Dance Experience and a Professional Dancer with Bloc Talent LA who has worked and/or studied with industry choreographers such as Brian Friedman, Tricia Miranda and More!).  Aliya's passion for dance can be infectious and she's excited to contribute her passion/talent to DFR !
